Real Problems. Properly Diagnosed. Permanently Fixed.

Every chimney system tells a story. These are real issues we've identified and corrected for homeowners throughout Louisville and surrounding areas.

We document our work because we believe homeowners deserve to see what was done and why. Each project below includes the problem we found, the approach we took, and the outcome.

Leaning Chimney Rebuilt With Lightweight Veneer System in Prospect, KY

A chimney near US-42 in Prospect had visibly leaned toward the roof — the chase had been built entirely from brick, putting more weight on the wood framing below than it should have carried. We dismantled the leaning structure and rebuilt it with a lighter brick veneer system, new flashing, and a stainless steel chase cover, preserving the masonry look while eliminating the load that caused the lean.

Rusted Chase Cover Replaced With Custom Stainless Steel in Louisville, KY

A Louisville homeowner's chimney was streaking orange rust down the brick. The cause was on top: the original galvanized chase cover had rusted through and was letting water pool and leak into the chase. We fabricated and installed a custom-fit stainless steel chase cover with a sloped, water-shedding design, reinstalled the existing cap, and applied a breathable water repellent to the surrounding masonry.

Hidden Chimney Fire Discovered in Crestwood: Complete Fireplace and Chimney Replacement

A Crestwood homeowner called after their fireplace pushed smoke back into the living room mid-fire. Our camera-documented inspection found the reason: a chimney fire had already burned inside the prefabricated system without the family ever knowing. Expanded creosote had choked the cap, heat discoloration and charred sheathing confirmed the event, and a listed system that has hosted a fire cannot be cleaned back to safe. We removed the entire fire-damaged system and rebuilt it from the firebox up — new wood-burning fireplace, new venting, rebuilt chase, new stone surround and mantel.

Custom Chimney Cap Installation and Fireplace Restoration

The homeowner called after bats had entered the house through the chimney system. On inspection we found that the previous chimney caps had been poorly constructed and were failing, and that both chimney interiors needed corrective repairs before the fireplaces could be considered operational. We completed the interior work, restored both fireplaces to working order, and installed two custom stainless steel chimney caps painted to match the home's shutters.

What homeowners say about working with us

we had 3 different chimney companies give us different opinions on the same chimney. one said it was fine, one said it needed a full rebuild, one said something in between. chimney experts was the 4th visit and was the most specific about what was actually wrong and why. that specificity is what finally let us make a decision

    Kyree Mitchell, via Google

I didn't know there was a difference between a chimney sweep and a proper chimney inspection until this visit. explained what each one covers and why both matter for different reasons. I walked away understanding what I actually had in my house. that kind of education without a sales pitch is rare
